| THE VILLAGES | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Escanilla, Lamata and Abizanda stand out for having maintained as it was the traditional architecture of the houses and other buildings, both religious and civil, mostly due to the continuity of the agrarian economy. Ligüerre de Cinca, after being abandoned for decades, has been restored as Holiday Centre by UGT. Maybe the most representative aspect in Lamata are its wells, as every single house has its own usually within a stone construction. They express a self-sufficient economy. In Casa Arasanz the well is decorated with a face at its surface opening. Furthermore, in Abizanda an Arab well is still conserved. In Escanilla, the village is articulated around the square, where the impressive façade of Casa Mora is located. |
